I have decided that since I am starting a new chapter in my life, I am going to start another blog.  So I will no longer post on this one.  Here is my new blog and I hope you follow it.  I am starting to get in the habit of posting more so my new one will actually be worth following :)

My Future

Car rides with mom.  They can always lead to interesting conversations....
Last night, my boyfriend talked about our future together and the serious possibility of marriage.  Now I want to make sure you know the background. lol 
I have know him since I was in 3rd grade so it's been awhile.  We started actually "dating" when I turned 16.  We dated for about a year when I realized that I was not ready for a serious relationship.  2 years late we reconnect and begin hanging out.  We both realize that we still have that strong connection that will never break so we begin dating again. 
I vowed (before I had even started talking to him again), that the next person I date will be the one I marry because I wasn't going to date anyone I didn't see a future with.
So we talked about marriage and kids (because that is an important topic when my dream is to have a HUGE family lol).  My mom got a TAD bit freaked out. :)
So this morning in the car ride to school (since I still haven't found a replacement car for the totaled one) she decided to question me on my feelings for this guy.  haha mom's should never ask questions they do not want to hear the answers to :)
She also wanted to stress that I did not seem ready for such a commitment and that I should finish schooling before I even think about it. 
I am really torn on this whole school thing.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE school.  But think about it.  The career I am pursuing requires an 8 year degree.  By then I will be around 26-27 years old.  Also the career I would like would require me to work during school hours.  I've always wanted to home school my children. Plus I always hoped that by that age I would be settled down and starting a family.  So whats the point of paying for school when I will probably never use it?
I am in lots of prayer on all this so I just need to wait and see what God's plan is for this stage of my life.  Until then, I plan on focusing on digging into His word and focusing on school.  Gotta love life :)

Computer Stations

You know that annoying person next you who doesn't seem to realize that there are other people around them?  I don't understand why colleges decided to put computers so close together. Potato chips and drinks should be outlawed while at a computer station!!!! (or I just have a low level of concentration in general lol) And if you have headphones on, I should NOT be able to hear your music. ugh. no thought of anyone around them.  So the next time your at a computer station and your about to bite into that chip or crank up your music, think about those around you. :)

This is something I created for a political website and sent it in. It was posted! This is a great program and I would encourage everyone to become a part of it. Here is what I wrote.

"OEF’s website states that “one of the major goals of OEF (Ohioans for Educational Freedom) is to locate and support strong godly candidates.” OEF gives everyone, including young adults, the opportunity to learn how to have a say in our authorities in government. Young Adults can now begin to take action in making sure that we have strong Biblical government leaders. I believe that all youth should be involved with OEF’s upcoming events because (1) we can learn about our country’s history and how we can have a say in what happens in our government, (2) we have a chance to act upon what they are learning and make a difference in our country’s leaders, and (3) we can meet like minded youth.

One reason that youth should become involved in OEF is because through OEF’s civic courses and Active Citizen’s Boot Camp, youth can learn about our country’s history and how they can have a say in what happens in government. OEF’s civic courses are intended, “to give young people a vision for taking America back to its Judeo-Christian foundations.” A few of the courses are: Intro to Constitutional Law, Revolutionary War Era Sermons, and Campaign school. These courses will be along the same lines as the courses that Generation Joshua offers. Active Citizen Boot Camp will equip and train young people to be effective leaders. They will learn how to have their voices heard as constituents through this workshop.

Likewise, OEF gives youth the opportunity to act upon what they are learning and make a difference in our country’s leaders. One opportunity available through OEF are the CADs. CADs are Citizen Action Deployments which are similar to Generation Joshua’s SAT (Student Action Teams). CADs are ways for students to campaign for candidates that support Biblical principles. Campaigning can included, but is not limited to, sign waving, doing door-to-door literature drops, and phone banking. Another way youth can put into practice what they are learning is through voter registrations. Voter registrations are used for a few reasons. One reason is to register voters. Voter registrations are also used to raise the awareness of the different candidates and to remind Christian voters of the importance of getting out and voting. The more Christians that are voting, the better chance that a candidate with biblical views will be sworn into office.

As a result of being a part of OEF, youth have the opportunity to meet and grow in their knowledge and faith with like minded young people. While I was attending my first Generation Joshua SAT, I didn't know anyone. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was in Virginia for one week campaigning for Bob McDonald. I participated in sign waving, phone banking, and literature drops. By the end of the week I had gained lifelong skills as well as lifelong friends. The friendships that I made then I still have today. It is a great experience!

Making our voices known is our duty to our country. I really like this quote by John Hancock, "Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. ... Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us." This is why I believe that youth should become involved in OEF’s upcoming events. Through civic courses, Boot Camp, voter registration, and CADs, youth are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to uphold our duties as constituents and as Americans. We can have a voice in our future figures of authority and the laws that they make. This is our God given right."
